Cologne, November 16. The Kölnische Zeitung in its issue of November 16 draws a wholly invented connection between the "Appeal of the Rhenish District Committee of Democrats" and an "Assurance" about the refusal to pay taxes[1] alleged to have been sent to the provinces by the extreme Left of the Prussian National Assembly. Nothing is known to the undersigned of a news report spread by members of the extreme Left concerning a refusal to pay taxes already decided on by the National Assembly.
